In this class, we will be making a slip dress! A slip dress is both a great first project for those new to garment construction, and a fun project to bang out for the seasoned sewists. We will learn how to lift a pattern off of clothing you already own and love, how to work with stretchy fabric! Feel free to bring your own sewing machine, but sewing machines will also be available for you. BRING YOUR OWN MATERIALS!
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
1.5 to 2+ yards of stretchy fabric
thread in a matching color
a shirt or dress that you own that fits you well to make a pattern off of
(OPTIONAL) ribbon or chord for straps
Lessons are held Tuesday, 3/03, from 5:30pm to 7pm, at the Rainbow Nook in Jamaica Plain. Classes are sliding scale to make them accessible to all, please pay what you can!
