In this class, we will be making a wrap skirt! Wrap skirts make for fantastic pre-show cover-ups, reveals, or walk-arounds, and are a staple of any drag or burlesque performer’s wardrobe. They are also shockingly easy to make! We will learn how to take waist measurements, top stitch, and do basic garment construction. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine, but sewing machines will also be available for you. BRING YOUR OWN MATERIALS!
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
1.5 to 2+ yards of a lightweight, non-stretch fabric
thread in a matching color
a shirt or dress that you own that fits you well to make a pattern off of
(OPTIONAL) ribbon to make a tie
Lessons are held Tuesday, 4/07, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, at The Rainbow Nook in Jamaica Plain. Classes are sliding scale to make them accessible to all, please pay what you can!
